valve spring compressor - need tool

cleaning up a kade head and need to know best deal on compressor. i read in another post that 'c-clamp' type is better, so where is the best place to get one?

so nobody does their own head work? come on i've seen several different types out there, just wondering what anybody else uses and where they got it from.

I my self dont do head work and I work for a dealer. Thats where machine shops come in. We dont bother pulling the valves because if they need lapping or any grinding work we dont have the equipment to do that so its just easier to sublet it to the machine shop. But if I did there is a C-clamp type valve spring compressor with a U on the spring side that I would purchase to do the job. your local auto parts store might have it but if not sears might have it.

thanks. i looked o at snap-on and well i havent won the lottery yet. hopefully sears can help out.

yea I dont buy from them either or mac or matco and I am in the buisness. I only buy from them when nobody else has the tool.
