there's blue smoke coming out of my tail pipe and of my breather from the catch can. i also dont have the proper oil restrictor on my car right now. will this lead to a valve seal burst or burnt piston rings or both?

when i do the compression check, what numbers are normal?

Sounds like your rings and or ring lands are toast now. 180 across the board is perfect.

so a blown valve seal wouldnt cause the smoke to happen? its definitely a blown piston ring? the car runs but theres just a lot of smoke. sometimes its blue, sometimes just white. the tune is off by alot, car runs very rich. if its only blue sometimes, what does that mean? i kno the car is burning a lot of gas..

My seals were bad, and I only got smoke at tip in. The only way you would be blowing smoke out the pcv system would be 1. The exhaust side seals are pretty much non existent (Which would be no to very light smoke unless you have a 1/2 inch exhaust), or 2. combustion gases are making their way past the rings, into the crankcase causing positive pressure in the pcv tract and finding the easiest way out, being your valve cover.

The ring lands of all 4 of my pistons in turbo duce were gone, and I was blowing smoke and oil out of the valve cover. My numbers were like 40, 50, 170, 70... The 92 auto tragic had a perfect 180 across the board, and I had just replaced all valve seals with blue viton seals. Then I spun a rod bearing. Haven't checked the compression in my Canadian model, but I suspect it isn't up to snuff as I can run 89 in it with no ping. The 92 would go ape **** if I put anything other than 93 in it.

**EditAssuming you have a turbo KA, I would venture to say that your ring lands are shot. Give me some info on your set up and boost levels.

Not really. Do a compression test and get back with the numbers.
