I put new rocker arms in and timing chain and tensioner and i dont know what else to do please help have a need to go to the woods and get muddy. I put new lifters in but they dont seem to be pumping up there is no oil coming out the holes in the top of the rocker armsdo you think the oil pumpjust is not putting out enough oilpressure to push all the way up to the lifters oh by the way it is a ka24e the oilpump is the only thing i havent replaced yet running low on funds. but should i go with ahv oil pump or do you think the oil journals are clogged in the block it has about 200k mileson it.

when I had my hardbody I thought I had valve rattle too. I took it to a shop and had the timing chain replaced and it still did it. There are some metal lines than run along the firewall. After I took the bracket off and let them sit away from the firewall it stopped. I know this sounds crazy but it worked for me.

If you have the V6, the rattle could be caused by the lifters which are hydraulic. The small oil journals inside the lifters do have a history of getting clogged and this doesn't allow the oil pressure to over come the mechanical load of opening the valve so you get valve train noise.

The only known cure for this is to replace the lifters...all of them.....Yeah I know that sucks.

You can try to switch to a 5W30 synthetic oil that may reduce the noise, or you can try to clean the engine with an additive you pour into the crankcase and let it circulate to loosen the blockages. (These additives don't always work either )

If you have a 4 banger then a rocker shaft could at the heart of the noise.

The last issue could be that the oil pump can't maintain high pressure due to scoring inside the pump body....but unless you have a seriously high miler engine and/or have been negligent with your oil change regiment, this is unlikely. ( PS this applies to both engines... )
