valve oil seals

i just bought my 4th 240 with 244,xxxmi and it smokes and i hate it the guy i bought it from said it was the valve seals but i dont know anything about the valve seals on these motors i wanted to know how much a shop would charge more or less or would it be easier for me to do it myself it smokes really bad at higher rpm as i gradually step on it it smokes more and more

It'd of course be cheaper to do it yourself, granted you know what you're doing. If you've no idea how to do this, I'd probably say go with the shop since it's pretty deep in there.

yeah, its a pain in the bum bum. will cost somewhere around $1000 at a dealership i think. hard to justify on a 200k+ motor.
