Valve noise after oil and plug change

I changed my oil today on the 85 300zx. Also changed the plugs, right after I cranked it up and it now has a valve tick.... constant and increases with the rpm.

I put 10-30 in it. I checked all the plugs to make sure they were still tight and no issues there. Seems like a stuck lifter????

I've heard that this can happen by using too light of an oil and also heard that they can be very picky about oil filters...I am pretty sure the oil filter that was on it was a factory filter and i put a wix filter on it. I'm getting good oil pressure ( 35psi idle ) ( 50-60psi @ 3k )

I'm thinking its got to be the oil weight or the filter.

Anyone have any ideas????

The lifter in the Z31 can be a pain, I have a soft lifter in my Z31 that I can't find, they all check out ok and the tick clears up with higher rpm or load. If the tick is constant you might considder doign an engine clean like rislone or seafoam and change the oil again.

I ran some oil treatment through it and changed the oil again. Still have a constant steady tick. It's pretty quiet.....can really only be heard when the hood is up.
I haven't had a chance to really drive it so time will tell.

are you sure it's a lifter? VG's are kinda notorious for cracking exhaust manifolds which leaks some sound out and sounds like a lifter tick and is really just the valve snapping shut.

Are you sure you didn't drop something into the cylinder when you changed the plugs? That's also an issue.

I am almost dead certain I didn't drop anything in the cylinder
