I'm having valve train woes and am looking for a quick fix without having to pull the head and do machine work ($550 worth of $hit with a new head gasket) It appears Ferrea either cut my valves too short or my valve job was inconsistent with the seating depth. Anyways, I am looking to add a small spacer (~1.5mm) to add some height to my hydraulic lifters to take up the lash between the lifter and cam.

Has anyone had experience with these or heard things positive or negative about them? I know it is more of a domestic drag part, but I'm running out of options to get this thing running within the next two months. I have to move, and so does the car. I have a call into DelWest Engineering who manufactures some, so I'll see what they recommend too.

Did you check to make sure that the noise is coming from those valves? i would check that first...

It has to be the valves. The front of the engine is quiet and the middle is the noisiest with the back making noise too, but not quite as loud as the middle. It directly corresponds to the amount of lash between the cams and lifters. Bigger lash=more noise.

If this "fix" does not solve the problem, then I'm 100% sure that I need to remove my oil feed blocker.

btw I talked to an engineer with Del West and he said the 6mm valve lash caps will fit and can be machined to the desired thickness and skirt height. For $10 each, this better work.
