hello all. I have 230K on my engine. I want to open it and play around with it.I will replace rings. my compression tests are 130psi and 185psi wet test. those are average numbers for all cylinders. chain guide fell off. just took it out when I removed oil pan.

I want to do a 3 angle valve job. how many angles do stock ka24 have.so I figured i need valve seat grinder. valve head grinder. right?do I need stationary valve seat grinder? or there is a way to attach valve seat grinder to the block. what angles would you suggest. also what do i need to look for in tools.any users who i should try to private message? any one done a write up?if everything goes bad. I will buy new engine.by the way I have 1993 altima gxe.thanks.

there are posts here somehwere on doing head work like that. i have never done it but i know that it will take a lot of time. you could probably go to a junk yard and buy a practice head first.

Stock KA's have a 3 angle valve job already. So realy all you need to do is Lap the valves.(that is if the seats aren't pitted). You can get the lapping compound and tool at your local parts store. It's real easy to do. Just don't lap too much. There's an edge on the valve that has to be a certain size. If you lap too far into it, you will weaken the valve to the point where the spring starts to pull the valve up into the ports. They call that "Tuliping". Not a good thing. If you want good flow, you need a 5 angle valve job.
