The car was doing ok before I adjusted the valves but after I adjusted the vavles(0.012 exhaust and 0.010 for intake) the car is terrible.Lost in power, stumbling at idle and when step on the gas. The only valve I had problem with was the first exhaust valve, the 14mm adjustment bolt won't turn. I tried to put in the 0.006 feeler gauge but it won't fit. My questions are how do you break loose the 14mm bolt? Is there a way to do it?Something to spray in? Also, I'm afraid the valve might damaged but how do i check to see if it is. I know it's not damage because the car was fine before and I didn't make that much adjustment.

this might seem like a stupid questions but you did roate the cam to it's base circle for each valve you adjusted right?

as for freeing it up, if you can push the valve down enough to get the follower off you can get a socket on it and you might have better luck, and as always leverage si a good thing

by rotate do you mean 180 degree from the valves(pointing upward). I did that. I actually adjusted the valves before but I did it again the 2nd time and this is the time with problems. What is the follower?

the follower si the thing that bridged between the pedestal (aka lifter) and the valve stem, it's what the cam actually contacts and hwwere you measure the gap when setting valves, and when I say rotate I mean taht at any given position some valves are being opened or closed, you need the cam lobe for a given valve to be pointing up when you adjust it, then you have to rotate the cam till the next one is pointing up

I did all that. I didn't have to take out the cam and all that stuff. I just pressed down on the valve and took out the rocker like you said. The car is running like normal now but I sitll have one problem. Even with the socket I still couldn't break the exhaust valve #1 loose. I think I'm near stripping it. Is there a way to replace 14mm and the 17mm bolts by taking it completely out? Otherwise I would have to take it to a shop because I know for sure that 14mm bolt won't break loose even with a breaker bar.

if you just pull the whole lifter (pedestal) out you can replace it with one from any L6 head with the one exception of the hydraulic p90
