I was curious, do anyone here know what the stock valve "height" is on the CA?
I am thinking of how much the valve sticks out from the guide inside the head.
When machining the valve seats and grinding the valves, you move/raise the valve, whats the stock measurement?

Not sure if i am explaining good enough here, do you guys need a pro paint drawing?

If you're still using hydraulic lifters, they should be able to easily compensate for the small change in valve height from grinding the valve seats.

Regardless, I've looked through the FSM, and you're right. I don't see that spec listed in there anywhere. My head has been ground so I can't measure it for you and know that it's a factory spec. Maybe Boost Boy has a head laying around he can measure for you?

Yes they should compensate, but this head has been machined before, and not by me.
Now i have to machine it again and the valve seats are getting really low.
Just wanted to make sure.
I have some stock untouched heads i can measure myself, then i will update this thread :)

have you though of using the rb25 valves? Im thinking of using some custom stainless valves for the exhaust side 1.5mm bigger and one 36mm on the inlet to work with staggered camshaft grind form Colt cams.

I still dont have enough posts to contact you tommey wont be long I hope.

The RB25 valves are longer also which perhaps are needed for 12mm and over lift.
I cant find the place now but they have the best prices Ive seen for aftermarket valves, will keep looking.

If they are longer then that is perfect for me!
I have been looking into getting some longer valves to go with my Tomei lifters.
I want to run them without shims and adjust the valves instead.

Going to dig trough some old rb parts today!

definitely longer valves on the RB but still cant find the link with the Stainless steel aftermarket ones. They where around 13-16usd each valve! quite reasonable.
