So about 3 weeks ago I go to the dealer to start a consumption test (I've had her for 3 months).

records indicate that it sat from 11/06 until I baught her in 6/06.

I noticed after 3 weeks that I was a little low on oil. I peruse the forum and ask a few Q's to find out how to proceed.

Under warranty I start the consumption test. 1800miles later I'm 1.5 quarts low!!!!

back to the dealer today. With 1 month left under warranty they tell me "they are going to replace the valvecovers due to [clogged] vents!?!?!?

in all my years of working on vehicles I have never...... and if it were the covers I would think that I would have smelled or seen residual film.

any Ideas folks?

thanks for the input.

Since you started the complaint before your warranty expired I would not worry about it. It is now in their records that you lost 1.5qts in 1800 miles, which is borderline to replace engine, if needed. Let them do the gaskets or covers and then continue to check the level.

You have it noted so you are good. Let them play with the valve covers and then make sure they run another test to see if it fixed it. If not, press them for a resolution
