I have a 1990 300zx N/A 5 spd and recently took off the valve covers to replace the gaskets.

My question is do the valve covers use grommets/spacers where the screws go in near the middle?
(e.g. - Place valve cover, place grommet/spacer where the screw goes, then place screws in hole on top of grommet/spacer)

Do the spark plug tubes also use grommets/spacers near the top/head?

Thanks in advance :)

The intake valve covers have a full rubber gasket + RTV around the VTC solenoids. The screws for this each get a rubber grommet. The exhaust valve covers just use RTV all the way around, including a rubber halfmoon gasket in the back. The bolts for these don't have any grommets.

The spark plug tube guides have a rubber boot on the end of each tube that goes into the spark plug tubes. The bolts that hold them down don't get any grommets.
