General question, I am about to embark on the "Replacement of the valve cover gaskets/sparkplug seals" on a 04 Pathfinder 3.5L engine. I like to know if it is necessary to remove both upper and lower plenums. If this is the case does the lower plenum have seals that need to be replaced and where to find them? I appreciate any help and concerns with this task because I don't want to dis-assemble my vehicle to discover I need a seal or gasket set. Once again any help is much appreciated in advance.

I have a 03 PF and although they sell the spark plug tube seals mine was one piece with the valve cover. I ended up breaking the plastic trying to get the seal out. I have however seen a method where you use a 2" hole saw so you can separate the plastic plate and baffle so the seals could be replaced if your valve cover is like mine. Safest thing would be to buy new valve covers so you don't get stuck. I got mine from rock Auto. The were Beck Arnley and identical to the one I took off.
