valve cover questions....help
what is under the lettering onthe valve cover...is it more alluminum or is it extremely thin aluminum that will disappear with grinding off the letters....im polishing my cover and i want the smooth look on both sides not letters on one...especially since i cant even get alll the nooks sanded.
This question shouldn't be in the KA-T section, but I'll answer it anyway 
The letters are just more aluminum; the whole thing is made out of aluminum. However, as it is aluminum, it's very soft, so be careful when sanding as you can distort/chew up the surface of the letters fairly easily. It all depends what you're sanding it with, but I'd start off with pretty fine material and work your way up.

it kinda goes here because its going on a kat motor....plus it was posted in general and technical...all the threads i usualy cruise.....i already grinded them off so i answered my own question... its gonna be a beyotch to clean it alll up and make it look smooth again...the reason i wanted it is because the rest of my car is badgeless with exeption of the rear lights so i wanted to carry the theme over....plus it makes stuff looked cluttered to me and is hard as hell to clean all the corners wherer the letters are....thanks for answering the question
