Who doesn't have it? How did you get rid of it? I just can't understand how it could leak around a brand new gasket mated to perfectly clean surfaces.... I know its not crankcase pressure because any gases that want to come out can go straight out of the top of the valve covers, right?

P.S. UV die is the shizzle for finding leaks

Mine leaks, but it's from a crack or something in the valve cover itself, not the seal.

mine may have a tiny crack then because it was leaking when i got my swap, i've changed the gasket twice and it still leaks a good bit... i was thinking about getting one of my friends to machine a piece of metal to replace the half moon plugs, something about rubber trying to seal to rubber just doesn't sound very good to me.

What gasket are you using? If you use the Nissan gasket, it's 3 pieces per cover. If you use the Felpro gasket, they mold the 1/2 moon piece into the regular gasket, so it's only 1 piece per cover.

Felpro is generally pretty good stuff.

Really...what part number? The Felpro kit I bought, the half moon pieces are seperate....

Also, how much torque are you putting on the valve cover bolts? I think the fsm says like 10ft lbs or something....not very much I know. I cranked mine down one time, and they leaked. Loosened them, and torqued them down to whatever the fsm says....and no more leaks

The felpro kit i got was two pieces too, where did you get yours float? But i definately over-torqued the bolts so thats probably it.

No leaks here. I had the same issue with overtorque as I switched to stainless hex bolts over the factory fasteners so it is much easier to over tighten.

$40!!!!! we can get them for like 5 bucks here in greer at advance, and they're usually in stock, the gaskets are 16 each and the plugs usually come with them if you get the felpro from advance or autozone....
