I dont understand why, but my valve cover is leaking. No matter what I do to try and fix it, it leaks. The front and rear plugs leak too. I tried replacing the gasket and fixing all my bolts for the cover and I even replaced both plugs too, but it still leaks. Anyone have any suggestions?

thanks,matt

Did you lay some silicon gasket maker on the half moon parts of the gasket? Nissan recommends doing that as there is little pressure exerted from the valve cover on them

ya chek the half moons. If that doesnt work you might have some bad piston rings. I know that i destroyed 5 pistons in my block and and my valve covers leaked continuosly no matter how much RTV or how many new gaskets i put on it. Hope its not your rings but sounds similar to what happened to me. Gomenasai. good luck

ill do a compression check and see, but as far as the half moons go, I haven't sealed those properly I guess, Ill do it tonight and see what happens. I just rebuilt the engine with new everything, so I dont think It can be the rings...but ill check it out.

Thanks for the help guys!

Just don't try to solve the problem with more torque
