oh i know it doesnt have anything to do with compression but my car has 219k on it and that made me happy when i found out my compression was better than my friends KA which has 146k on it..OldmanPurdy wrote:The valve cover gasket isn't related to compression and yes it is safe to drive but still its a cheap and easy fix so theres no excuse for delaying it, be sure to order the inner and outer gaskets.

thats i the first bolt on top of the valve cover and i didnt if it was a problem or not.. Right after i get done driving it the oil will be there and when i come back later to check it.. it will be gone. so i dont know. But yeah i will post more pics.. I went out and bought the RVT and gasket today and i will swap it out tomorrow and take pics and probably do a right up about it just incase no-one else has done a right up about it. Just trying to help out whatever way i can.vancouverbc wrote:the more pics the better. not sure what that bolt is. if it is just the valve cover i dont see how it could be a problem.
ok well here you go.. i dont know if you can tell much from this or not but this before i am going to change it out..vancouverbc wrote:the more pics the better. .
There is an inner gasket that seals the inner bolt holes and the spark plug sockets, since you have oil in both it needs to be replaced along with the outer gasket.xX RB Xx wrote:ok will have to see what i have laying around the house.. Ill let you guys know how it goes tomorrow.. any other suggestions before tomorrow?

I got a really bad itch to throw some new cams in.OldmanPurdy wrote:Valve cover gasket for most people is the first time they ever open up their engine, doing that repair yourself feels good and will give you the confidince to tackle bigger jobs in the future, congrats!
