was jsut wondering if the valve cover gasket was reuseable after you pop the cover off?

also while my cover is off...how can i check that my chain guides are doing their job?

anything else i should check out while i'm in there?

Its a good idea to replace both inner and outer gasket if they are all hard... Ive seen peoples engine with leaky valve gasket.. not a good idea.

As for the guides... check out the sticky in the general chat

I've reused valve cover gaskets. As long as they aren't all dried out or chewed up in any way, I reuse them. I do know that dealerships will replace them every time they pop off the valve cover.

I reused mine when I did my timing chain... I just put some silicone gasket on the VC gasket.

Oh, and while your valve cover is off, you might want to remove your upper timing chain guides, because they'll give you trouble in the future.
