I really want to go ahead and remove both of the timing chain guides on my S13 but I wanted to know if it would be okay to temporarily re-use the valve cover gasket?

I've seen what can happen if you don't and it has me worried.

None of the stores around me have one in and neither does Nissan and I have today off to do it.

Thanks for the responses. You guys are great.

I re-used it anyway. Going to have Nissan order me a replacement then do the bottom guide when that comes in.

I wouldn't of re-used it. In your situation I would have just waited.

Good luck with your rattle removal. Don't forget to inspect your time chain tensioner.

Thanks. It will only be a few days before I replace it with a new gasket from Nissan so I figured it couldn't be that bad. The gasket was in great condition anyway. I'm going to remove the middle guide because its rattling too when I put the new valve cover gasket on.
