i am putting in New KADE motor in my 91 coupe and they look different. one has 3 bolts down the center and the new one has one in the front and one in the middle. what is the difference in motors as far as far as years and makes? will it matter?

What year is the replacement engine from? As far as I am aware, all 240sx ka24de look the same(minor changes over the years, but definitely 3 bolts in top center). Are you sure this isnt an engine from an altima or frontier?

S13 kade has 3 bolts on top, S14 kade has 2 on top and the rear exhaust side is curved, not boxy like S13. also S13 and S14 KADE bolts are DIFFERENT! you cannot use S13 valve cover bolts on a S14 valve cover/head!!! the S13 threads are slightly smaller than S14, so if you try to use them they will just fall in.S14 doesnt have the intake manifold butterflies like S13's do, also the rear of the head where emissions bolt to are different. and lower intake manifold vac lines are different. but you can just change it out with S13 and it will be fine. as for the vac lines that bolt to the back of the head, just use one bolt and it will also be fine. and unless you use full s13 intake manifold, youll need to bypass the swirl control valve silenoid. just take the silenoid off and run a vac line from where the silenoid was hooked up at.
