Valve cover bond question??

so i have a black s13 sr20 and it seems to have oil leaking from the valve cover so i got a new valve cover gasket im just wondering what kind of bond do you use to seal the gasket?? and where do you apply it?

You dont need a sealant. You need a new valve cover gasket.

Just make sure the mating surfaces are clean, and tighten down the valve cover bolts a little at a time to make sure even pressure is applied and you should be golden.

Put a bead of gasket maker on the four halfmoon sections. When I did mine some people suggested putting gasket maker in the grooves where the valvecover gasket seats into. I didn't do that but I did do the halfmoon sections and have not had any leaks. I suggest that you check the valvecover bolts after a couple of days becuase I found my valvecover bolts a little loose a couple of days after I tightened them. I guess it was do to the valvecover gasket seating in or breaking in to the valvecover.
