I am budgeting for an engine swap and will need to sell the engine, transmission, and all realted electronic controls from a 90-96 Q45. Does anyone know the approximate value of these parts sold as a set from a good running Q?

Depends on year [90-93] [94-95] [or 96] for engine and [90-93] or [94-96] transmission.

Mileage and condition are significant ......the internal look of parts and fluids.

Junkyards charge around $500 delivered for a transmission and $1,000 to $1500 for a Q engine.

JDM importers charge the same delivered to our shop.

Both offer us a 30 day replacement warranty including delivery and pickup.

All of these get/need significant R&R to make them suitable reliable to resell to someone in a swap.

ECU and TCU range from $200-$100 per unit lots depends on exact year and model........49 state or California, active, traction or standard.........1993 is worth the most [to us].

In the end it is only worth what some one will pay.

I {T3} have a nice 1992 Q engine [with upgraded chain guides and new plenum hoses, new plugs, resealed valve covers, resealed oil pan, etc etc] we stripped it down [removed heads] to clean carbon from pistons and valves being assembled as we speak. Kind of a slack time project that has been going on for a month.

First $1,900 takes it away, we'll load it in your truck [not available for shipping]............this is of the same quality as we use in our engine swaps except it has 100k on it........the bores look brand new.

Usually engines and trannies don't go bad together except in severe over heats. Start at $2,200 and work your way down.
