Looking at a convertible that's missing the boot... what's it going to cost me to replace it?

Thanks,

- Dave

Thanks!

Dave - they're pretty rare, I have seen them go on ebay for $100-$200.

Thanks. Turned out not to matter anyway... the car was FAR from worth the asking price. Major hail damage, badly peeling repaint, rattle-can paint under the hood, trashed interior with some seriously ghetto "fixes", non-working radio, etc.... and he had the nerve to be asking "Excellent" blue-book value.

Oh well, the search goes on...

Hahaha, what a moron.

When will people learn that these cars, especially convertibles, are more of a liability than an asset if not immaculately maintained?

A clean vert with avg miles, no rust or dents, all working components, and normal wear should fetch no more than $3500 - and that's generous.

Sellers need to understand that a top motor costs $900, a new top is over $1000, door and interior panels are priceless (since they're not made any more) and other little components are pricey because of the rarity of the car.

Which is why I'm probably goign to get rid of my top......Spend 1k on new top or put it towards making a show car.So it'd be garage kept anywayz.
