Well if its from a 240 that means it has 6 bolt output flanges so you don't need new axles, that adds to the value right there. Plus its the same final drive ratio as the open diff 240 too, so your speedo wont get screwed up. I'd give 200 if I was in the market for one.

wow you guys pay way too much for vlsds. my roommate has one in his s13. its garbage. its only slightly useful in snow and rain. other wise drifting in the dry is sloppy and inconsistent. at the track they overheat and loose their locking ability and become open diffs.

i see vlsds go for $40-80 around here. Thats your typical 150-170K mile diff, which is about the mileage my roomate has on his. For an unknown mileage diff, its a total crap shot. And it being such an old part, you have bad chances. I would give him $40 MAYBE $50 max. And plan on getting a welded diff or a clutch type diff used. Really, its the only way to go. VLSD is for toys.

its worthless, your friend is a douche and ripping your a** on it. 200 bucks for that crap? :rotfl whatever homeboy.
weld your own s*** up and call it a day. its locked and stays locked...if you want predictable, weld it. its cheap too. if you want a spare, find a dirt cheap pumpkin and weld that very well and clean...and swap them out when u want to. seriously dude. 200 bucks isnt steep, its straight stupid.
