These advantage parts are typically through a different parts channel vs the regular OE line --- they are fine for an older car. Manufacturers have to do this, especially for collision parts. Insurance companies are writing policies that allow for alternate aftermarket parts -- the manufacturers have to have a second tier line or they loose out on all this business.
the last i looked the OE oil filter was made in Japan the advantage was China -- a lot of dealers use the advantage oil filter when doing oil changes.
I happen to like the OE pads for Nissans -- I went with Zimmerman rotors. If I can get Zimmerman aftermarket -- I go that route.
