Is there any truth to the below release, specifically as it relates to the QX56? Has anyone else seen or heard of such a discount?

Top 10 Biggest Luxury dealsPosted by Aram on Nov 23 2007 | Uncategorized

End of the year means automakers are trying to unload inventory to clear the dealers’ lots for new models, or simply to boost sales. Here are the top 10 biggest deals in luxury vehicles: if you always wanted these cars, now’s the best time to take advantage of the new low prices (prices in USD).

10. Saab 9-7XIf you can get past the silly idea that Saab is a good fit for an American-style SUV, then 9-7X is now available with almost $8,635 in savings.

9. Infiniti QX56Another SUV that hasn’t captured the public’s imagination (and wallets) is QX56. We’re talking about $9,062 rebate just in time for the introduction of brand-new 2009 QX model next year.

I doubt it since the article is dated 11/07 and we're not seeing those kinds of deals right now.

I've gotten quotes all over the board...from invoice to 900 over invoice to 3K over invoice.

Currently there is a 1750 rebate and that is it.

Last bit of info is that there is no confirmation that there will be an all new '09 QX. In fact, I would actually doubt that. Why would they redo the interior and massage the exterior just to release an all new '09? That makes no sense. I would imagine that the all new design will arrive in CY09 as a MY10

I just purchased my '08 Armada on 12/31/07, I have a good friend that is an Infiniti dealer, and the closest he got to my Armada payment was within about $90. The sticker on the QX56 was about $59,000 and the sticker on the Armada I got was $53,000. I don't believe that we will see a redesigned QX56 for the '09 model year either. It sounds more like the 2010 model year at the earliest.

Just wondering? Why not get the QX? If the difference was only 90 bucks...I'd grab the QX for the extra toys and luxury touches.

Also....there was a post yesterday on Fresh Alloy that said the new QX would be in 2010 and made in Japan.

I am...exactly why we're getting the QX!!She wants the luxury feel that the QX gives compared to the Armada. It is not worthwhile to me to argue...besides I like the extras too

According to Nissan the QX and the Nissan Quest (mini van?) are both moving their production to Japan as early as late this year or early next year. There are some interesting articles concerning the Canton Mississippi factory out there. Worth reading about since they opened it in 2003 and suffered some teething pains along the way. Anyway they say the move is to make room to build more pickups in Canton.
