Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that our style of government was a Constitution Federal Republic. A Republic being a form of government where people (aka politicians) are elected to represent the people and govern. I think that the term 'Rule' was a bad choice by Ms. Jarrett, not only because it has such a negative connotation, but also because the Executive branch co-governs this great land, with the Legislative and the Judicial branches of our federal government. Not to forget the State governments as well.Meet the Press wrote:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27629956/
However, giving--given, really, the daunting challenges that we face, it's important that President-elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one. So we will be working closely with his administration.
But this leads me to my major point, prior to the 2008 election when I asked people what they wanted in a President (Presidential Candidate) the answers really shocked me. They didnt want a person who could run the Executive Branch effectively and efficiently (Administrator). Instead they wanted a Dictator that could force people and politicians to do this or that or right thing. With the current political culture in the US that doesn't understand the constitutional assigned duties of each branch of the federal government and now people calling for a defacto Dictator. I really worry about the political process in our country.
As the Ron Paul bumper stickers state, "Restore the Republic."
