I am going to buy a new radar detector on Friday and am trying to decide between a Valentine 1 or a Escort 8500 X50 Blue. I like the blue display but I have no personal experience with the Escort. I did have a Valentine once and loved it. Any help would be appriciated.

2 of my friends have escorts, they are good. neither has gotten a ticket since they got them (one has had for bout a year, the other about 1.5 years) and they dont drive slow lol. one has the cig lighter version, one has the cordless. get the one with the cord or you will go poor from buying double As. lol. and vanlentine 1 is freakin old

V-1 is king. you dont think you need the rear radar but ive found it very usefull many times. on all band its very powerfull to. free upgrades if they ever come out with different radars, and a remote sensor option so you can mount the V-1 out of site. you gota buy that though

V1 is the only way to go if you got the coin to drop on a top end radar detector

Hope I'm not too late! I have both. They both have 30 day money back offers. The valentine is way more sensitive, to both police radar, and falses. I'll take V-1 personally. Trust me please. I've decided after much debate since I can upgrade moe easily with escort. The price had a factor too. I still take V1. My wife gets the Escort.
