Anybody know if you need the solenoids that are behind the motor on a DE. I removed all of the emissions, but i left those in, and i want to know if i need them or not. The one vacuum line comes from the fpr i think, so i prolly need that. But what about the rest. There are 3 solenoids in total. i searched but couldn't find anything. if this topic is already covered, please direct me in the right direction. thanks

I'm gonna be honest man. The only things I have hooked up to vacuum is Brake Booster, FPR, Boost Gauge, and WasteGate on the Postive side of the piping. I took off EVERY other piece of vacuum line on my car. Even unplugged all those solenoids. I may have messed up, but as far as from my experience, nothing but good things. That plate of hoses looks like a nest of doom anyways.

Oh something else... I took out the charcoal canister, and that exhaust intake box thingy on the driver side. No issues either

I think you're talking about the EGR stuff, if so, toss it. Check this out, might help some. Intake manifold breakdown

Yeah i have everything except for the fpr, wastegate, boost gauge, brake boost and those solenoids removed. i guess that they are EGR stuff, but i blocked that off too, so i guess i just need the first one that has a line from the fpr to it. Thanks

Ight...im removing them, but the line that goes from the side of the fpr goes to a rail that connects to all of the solenoids. Do i need to block off all of the harlines that go to the solenoids? or just cap off the side of the fpr. Here is a drawing of what it is somewhat like. Can i just blockoff the red line from the fpr to the solenoids?

The FPR always needs a vacuum signal. Everything else must be capped or blocked. Unless you leave it installed that is.

Ok, but if i remove the solenoids can i just put the side of the FPR to any vaccum source on the intake manifold...as long as it has vaccum. Rather than to the solenoids?Sorry i keep asking the same question...i am just confused as hell...and i dont want to mess anything up.

Yep, any vacuum source on the intake manifold can be hooked to the FPR.

Ya, make sure you use the intake manifold, and not your charge piping supply. The FPR needs to see Vacuum as well as Positive Pressure to adjust fuel pressure accordingly. I was using my stock FPR for a while and it was working just fine. I was running 12psi and 63ish lbs of fuel pressure that way with a walbro 255 in the tank. At idle, I was seeing about 35-38 lbs of fuel pressure. Hope this helps...
