Okay, so I need some help, being that I'm not the biggest (by far) expert on cars. My issue is this: I know the car is suppose to idle at around 18 vacuum. However, my car idles at 14 vacuum and runs with no issue. The idle is smooth in neutral and in drive (it's an auto). But I think I hear a vac leak in the engine bay. I'm pretty sure the boost gauge is calibrated because when the car is off it's on 0, and when I hit full boost it goes to 10psi and stays there. Whta could be the issue?. The weird thing to me is why is the car running ok with only 14 vac at neutral and 10 vac in drive? Shouldn't that matter? Againg I could speculate, but my knowledge of cars is so limited I thought I could benefit from people with more knowledge.P.S. This is a new engine that was put in after I blew up the first one. (twice)If at first u don't suceed, try, try (x2) again

Not sure about what you said with the idle. Under the hood of my 240, it says that it should idle at about 750, but mine always idles around 900.

it should actually be 20-25inhg. do a boost leaker test and see if that works. but if you hear a vacuum leak..all you have to do is pinch the hoses and see if it stops. a common leak is your boost gauges nylon line..its very small and usually a zip tie wont do the trick unless you have a very small vacuum hose. check that out
