Alrighty well I made a block-off plate for my egr at school and a couple of days ago I decided to do away with the clutter. I researched as much as I possibly could and looked over every pic I could find and was sure it couldn't be that hard.
Ok so I removed the complete egr assembly and it's top half with the little circular thing also, I capped off the lines that were left open and fired her up. It sounded like a v8 with a mean ars cam, the rpm's would jump from about 400rpm to 1500rpm and eventually it would die. So after countless hours stranded with no food in my backyard I proceeded to mix-match the wires that were left disconnected after egr removal and.. nothing.
I know the FPR and IACV is supposed to be hooked up regardless, and I was pretty sure they were getting vacuum but nothing seemed to work.
There are 2 vacuum "boxes" on the back of the head that have nipples coming out of them. The one closer to the exhaust side is feeding into the one on the intake side and from that box one of the lines goes to the FPR.
Also, in between the firewall and the head there are 3 or 4 vacuum hard lines and I know one goes to the butterfly acuator but the others I have no clue. By the IACV there's also 4 hard lines coming out that I haven't a clue about. This stuff gives me a migraine every time I think about it, if somebody knows an IN DEPTH write-up please tell me, or anything else that can help.
No hurry though, because the motor's just about ready to pull on out. Not because of the egr though lol I'm transplanting into another shell.
