So I'm pretty sure I have a vacuum leak and I want to test it. I know I have to take the filter and MAF sensor off but what do you guys connect to the intake hose to blow air or smoke into the system?? In the "everything you need to know" thread he uses some contraption but idk what the hell that thing is.
-Thanks in advance

It's just a homemade device the size of the intake runner that has an air hose fitting on it.

You can also go old school and spray carb cleaner around the bay and see if the idle increases in any particular spot.

The best DIY coupler I cam up with is a plumbing plug you can easily get at a Hardware store, and where I was JUST able to drill a hole for an airline fitting into in which to attach your compressor. It has a solid rubber disk that when you screw it tight, expands to fit the opening on a hardpipe (dual intake as I have) or the MAF opening of the OEM 1 to 2 opening soft pipe connection. With your compressor set to only create and pump 5-6 psi, hook it up and you can then go around and check various spots with anything that would indicate airflow, including your ear. Be aware that the intake valves on a cylinder or two may be open and give a faint internal hissing sound, but that will be from inside the engine and if that's all you hear, you have a different issue such as failed turbo or other turbo issue more likely...as I did, and which required new turbos.
