when i did the s14 swap to my girls s13 coupe, i went ahead and took off the whole erg system. its just emissions. simply take off the two plates, remove the line that goes from the erg to the header, weld up the holes on the header and egr connection and plug up or clamp shut the two or three vacuum hard lines in the back. start the motor and check for leaks in these spots. should cure your problem. also you could check for leaks around the throtlle body
