EGR doesnt operate on a vacuum, although it is vacuum actuated, just let the egr stay open or something? :)

Learned that today from EZCheese actually :)

Get rid of all the vacuum lines. Leave one for the brake booster, one for fuel pressure regulator, and one for idle air intake valve. Removed the scv too, if you have them.

how would you get rid of all the vacuum lines? Do you have to plug them?

There are only a couple lines connecting to the manifold. There area whole bunch of t fittings and what not. Getting rid of all the emissions crap gets rid of the spiderweb of vacuum lines.

I would talk to Russ out of Atlanta before going and pulling off all your vaccum lines. He is a genious when it comes to this. He has no emissions on his car i beleive. he is one of very few who has done this properly.

You mean the egr and scv solenoids? Just leave them unplugged. On a '92 this doesn't trigger the check engine light or any codes. All the lines I have are brake booster and fuel pressure regulator after throttle body, and idle intake valve before throttle body. EGR is blocked off with a metal plate and liquid gasket. Instead of figuring out what you don't need, it's much easier to figure out what you do need, and get rid of everything else.

And if your going turbo, dont forget one for a boost gauge.

for the idle intake valve, throttle body, and fuel pressure regulator does the vacum line have to run through the stock routing. and i have a 91. you said on the 92 the check engine light wont go on. how bout on the 91

so all the lines you need are 1)brake booster, one for 2)fuel pressure regulator, and one for 3)idle air intake valve. Will there be a problem if i remove the hard lines on the back of the head. Can someone post a pic

Shoot no, rip that crap out...I'm down to brake booster, fpr, and IACV...thats it. I have to hook up the wastegate and BOV but other than that, NO other emissions devices or the SCV. Once you eliminate the emissions bull****, you can get rid of the hard lines on the back of the head. When you get rid of the hardlines on the back of the head, just leave the two solenoids plugged into the harness, but not hooked up. That way, you can be certain the computer wont throw any codes.

alright here is a question, what are you guys using for T's and stuff? I saw a pretty cool idea, a vaccuum boss, basically its a distribution block for vaccuum lines instead of multiple T's.. nice and clean and easy to trouble shoot.

The Nathan BADLY needs a digital camera...I dont have a picture that would show you what you need to see right now :( Besides, I'm still not quite done with the vacuum lines yet anyways, maybe I'll finish them tonight...

just wondering, dont you need the solenoid on the back of the head for the fpr on the fuel rail, I having vacuum issues with my car right now and i need help. The hard lines by the fuel rail are gone, aiv gone, egr gone, scv gone, pcv sill there, before i took the stuff apart the vacuum was at -10 on the boost gauge and now its at -20. I tried to cap everything, now im going to connect the solenoid back to the fpr on the fuel

I know for the DE there is no solenoid for the FPR, it should just take a straight vacuum signal from the intake mani. The fpr is very simple in operation, it just maintains an equivalent fuel pressure to the vacuum or boost the manifold is seeing so that the fuel flow rates stay the same. (yeah, a terrible explanation I know). Hence, it should NOT have a solenoid going to it since there is no time it would need to be computer controlled to increase or decrease fuel flow.

I'm 99% sure that is the same with the E too, the FPR runs straight off man. vac/boost.

golden eagle makes a nice vacuum manifold. actually alot of companys make some nice ones. search for vacuum manifold on yahoo or something.
