Be4 I start randomly drilling holes in my IC piping I just wanna be sure that the wastegate actuator gets its vacum reading from the hotpipe. A dumber question: does it matter where on the hotpipe I tap in to or just pick the most convienent spot?

you get the best signal if you tap as close to the turbo as possible, but anywhere on the hotpipe will work.

if u dont want to drill, u can T off the BOV. I know some people on here run theirs like that, and thats how i plan on doing mine when i finally decide to install my FMIC

Yea T'ing ur BOV works but it can spike or overboost, Having a nipple on your hotpipe is the best way to go.

You could Drill a Hole in your hotpipe, and tap it, and thread in a brass Nipple of some kind. thats what i did. i can get u a pic if u need it.

Just for the record, there is no vacuum in the IC piping. Had a boost gauge hooked to it and would read vacuum till i put it from a vacuum line from the Throttle Body. Also vacuum doesnt hold the wastegate shut. The spring holds the wastegate shut till the wastegate line reaches enough boost to open the spring. Its the reason why you want it as close as possible to the turbo.

Another easy way to putting a source in your Hotpipe is, Drill a small hole in a coupler and get a Plastic Barb T fitting the size of the Wastegate line and push it in. Makes a pressure fit that doesnt leak. Hook up the wastegate line and block the other side of the T. Cheap, Easy, and Fast. Ive been running mine this way for 2 years with no problem.
