vaccum leak

yeah i have a 240sx with the sr20de motor swap..not the sr20det motor..anyways i got my oil changed the other day at time it lube...and they told me i have a real bad vaccum leak..my car sputters when i drive it sometimes and the lights dim as i drive..and when i come to stops the car just idles real low and cuts off....i thought i was the battery buti checked it out and i dont think thats it so i wondering is the vaccum leak causing all these problems
