I bought this last year as a vacationmobile, specifically so I could traverse dirt roads to interesting places that would leave me high and dry with my wife screaming at me for destroying her BMW touring. And it's done about what I realistically hoped for.

MPG-18.1
Miles-3932
Oil consumed-2.5 quarts

I'd hoped for better mileage after replacing the O2 siensors, but got exactly what I got last year. But there was more 80MPH speed limit time and much more hard off road time. One tank in particular was a chunk of the White Rim Road in Canyonlandss National Park. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Rim_Road That tank was 11.4MPG, so if I eliminate it alone I would have seen 18.5, which means to me the Oi2 sensorr replacement did make a difference, albeit not as large as I'd hoped. And there was considerable other 4iWD travels along with the 80MPH areas which surely aren't ideal for a truick with a Cx of .58. I'd like to see 20MPG, which I think would be doable if not for the 4iWD, roof rack and A/T tires. Most of the reason I bought it in other words.

My aux fan install was a big hit, unlike last year it never saw the halfway point on the temp gauge even in 100+F temps and crawling in 4iWD low range, unlike last year when it was flirting with the danger zone a couple of times. I probably do have the adjustable switch turned too low, but that's ok too, it didn't run all that much and it's nice to never see the temp gauge more more than a hair.

Overall it did well, MPG was if anything more than I expected but less than I'd hoped for. Oil consumption does concern me and I'll be posting separately on that later.

The EPA rated fuel economy on that is 15/18 mpg so if you're getting 18 with mixed driving you're doing exceptionally well.

Your miles are what's expected ... they really fall off in cold weather. Sadly -- the V6 has a history of oil use ... all of mine have used some oil.

I have used mine in 100+ degree weather w/ no cooling issues .. but obviously placing any stress on an aging system is helped with the addition of a aux fan. It's a wise addition for off roading in extreme heat. I have one on my diesel rover -- just in case.

That's pretty good. I am planning a 2,000+ miles trip in September and hoping to go on some dirt trails. I would be happy to break 18mpg at 80mph with AC on full blast though. I typically sit at about 17.8-17.9 mpg. I should probably keep a couple of quarts of engine oil though - added that to my list!

Winter does kill the gas mileage - mine drops to about 15 going 70-75 with the heater on and judicious use of throttle.
