Has anyone done away with all of their vacuum lines on a s14 intake manifold? Can this even be done and still run without problems? Just curious.

Some of them can, but I couldn't tell you where to start. I want to know what can be removed too because I've got more than you do (OBD-2) :)

I know the EGR can be removed..

Yeah mines obd2 also I tried searching also that didnt turn up jack ****. I know a guy who does fabricating and was pondering the idea of an aluminum or sheetmetal intake thats why i was wondering. Hey cow thanks for the info on those forums thats a pretty cool site. Once i got on there i saw all kinds of bs dustin put on there. Like his car holding 30psi, his dad being a navy seal, etc., etc. :)lol Not to be ricer like or anything but I just ordered some r32 gt-r projector headlights from ebay and im going to MAKE them work in my car. I see some bodywork and fabbing coming my way, but i got them for 71.00 and i hate the s14 headlights so ill have to e-mail you some pics when i get them done. (Could be a while...)

I thought all 95's were OBD-1?? Weird. And yeah I hate the early s14 headlights, that's why I waited till I could find a 97. :)

I've also been thinking really seriously about making some sort of custom intake manifold. Let me know if anything develops with that. I think the KA would see a major benefit from it. I'm probably going to draw up some rough sketches here soon once I get an idea of how big it needs to be and the runner length.

Yeah actually the runner length is a large factor in why the ka has such great low end torque and crappy topend. The ka manifold has long runners that create velocity at low rpm and starts falling on its face in the red zone. With the right designed manifold and a set of cams we could change this. (probally a port and polish also) If you go with short runners the low end power is gone and its all up top. What we need is a dual stage runner type manifold. Long runners for bottom end and short runners for high rpm range. It would have to switch from one set of runners to the other at a certain rpm.

I agree about the manifold.. a short runner with a large plenum would be ideal. I also planned on swapping out my cams for s13 and maybe doing some headwork down the road. However, coming from the world of Hondas (my last car was a GS-R) I don't know if the dual stage manifold is the best idea. The GS-R has exactly the system you described, and most people swap it out for an aftermarket single stage for more power. The size of the runners and their configuration are not ideal for power, in addition to the obstruction created by the butterfly valves. A variable length manifold with telescoping runners would be nice, but too complicated and expensive. Best IMO to stick to something simple. :)
