On my 180 there is a canister that site right near my air filter. 2 vac lines run out of it over to my intake manifold. I just did a swap for another CA and I"m trying to clean up the engine bay a little bit. I heard you can take this out and then plug the lines that run from it. True? Will it significantly effect my emissions testing? Thanks for any info you can give me on this thing. Thanks...

You need to leave the line at the firewall open so that the gas tank can "breathe" and plug the line on the throttle body. I don't know about Canada, but here in the states you need it to pass visual inspection in most states.

God I love not having inspections in AL

Functionally, you can take the Carbon/Charcoal cannister out, it is to filter fuel vapors coming from the tank. Do not plug the line from the tank or you will wind up with excess pressure in your fuel tank and it can be bad. Just put the line up to the firewall (maybe between the strut tower and the firewall) and you will be good to go. Just put it somewhere that it won't be open to spark/flame to ignite the vapors.

The little vac cannister is for the butterfly valves in the intake. Not _required_ but it is there to smooth the opening of the valves.

I got rid of mine. Ain't no thang, just make sure the breather for the tank isn't plugged like everyone has said. I had mine plugged and it would build up a lot of pressure in there. It was indeed bad. My dad feared for my life, haha.

Maz, I in my infinite wisdom have misplaced your phone number. I kept stopping by your place of employment but never saw the pulsar, so I figured you were not there.
