What is a good cheap V8 for drifting? i have a KA24 right now in my 93 hatch and i want to go to a V8. ive heard of people taking them out of RV's and s*** but i just wanted to see if there is a better, cheaper way to just get a plain V8.
so things i need to know.
Where the best place to get/buy a good v8 is
What kinds of v8's fit into the s13 chassis
and also if i should boost the V8. (i want the effects of having a turbo but not the maintenance and cost)

thank you

a cheap v8? look in a junk yard. but any swap into an s-chassis other then the usual KA or SR will require some fabrication. Putting any V8 in yur s-chassis will end up up being kind of expensive unless you can do yur own fabrication and wiring and have all yur own equipment.

the best way to do a v8 swap is doing a carbed v8 so older motor so theres no wiring since its carb just get some custom motor mounts or some motor mounts off other car/trucks will go on the s chassis nd bolt right up i would do a ford 302 or 351 if you like ford motors or a chevy 305 350 or a stroked out 350 to 383 if you want some serious tq nd theres no need to boost a v8 in a 2400 pound car

Keep what you have and just make it to the track. Any swap will cost you more than you expect. Also, AL V8's work fine in drifting, but Iron V8's make a drift car a donut machine. The front is too heavy. I know from experience. LT1 made crazy power, but when sliding she just wanted to spin. My stock KA and KA-T were much better drift cars.

Just a heads up, nothing about a V8 Swap is cheap.

Yes the actual Engine from the junkyard may be cheap, but when you take mounts, power steering, fuel setup, fabricating an exhaust, wiring and ecu tuning, oil pan and cross member clearance, and etc into consideration, it adds up quickly...
