I've seen mention of lost emblems especially after the timing chain recall work was done. Anyone get lucky enough to still have the emblem? My car came without it.
How flimsy is the attachment on the underside? Can someone post a pic of the attachment?

140411MC2B is the part # for the entire cover, it doesn't seem like the emblem can be purchased separately.
MSRP is about $230 and I see one on ebay for approx 100 bucks less without the emblem. It would suck to spend that money and blow the logo thingy off while say, running the wash nozzle in the engine bay.

Anyone had luck with trying an emblem from a different application, like the SUV trunk hatch, grille etc? :gapteeth:

This is just something that nags me since I visit under my hood quite often.

Mine fell off a while ago. I still have it but it does not bother me. I haven’t even put the engine cover back on yet since doing my spark plugs. :chuckle:

I bought a carbon fiber engine cover which didn't have the Infiniti Mt Fuji emblem - I bought a used one off Fleabay - I think it was a QX80 Hatch emblem - so a little larger than the regular engine emblem, for like $40 and then used 3m tape to stick in place - it's pretty rock solid.

Thanks for the pointer, Doc. I'll see if I can visit the dealership after hours with some goo-gone and fishing wire. JK, I'll look at eBay.

Debonair, for me this engine delivers a lot of satisfaction through the gas pedal among other desirable attributes, but pretty to look at, it ain't. Gotta put a lid on that eyesore... and a sideways Pacman on the lid :rotfl

Which reminds me, you have no idea how many people have referred to my vehicles as Acuras over the years, based on looking at the grille emblem.

Ped,

where do you find a cabin fiber engine cover? Mine is cracked and I want to replace it.

I got it on Fleabay - got lucky and found a seller that was only charging $150 (it's advertised for a G37, but the engine is the same, so a lot of aftermarket parts also fit the M37 - some consolation since I don't have the wondertorqueful V8)
see http://www.ebay.com/itm/Real-Carbon-Fib ... 4b214e8885

Unfortunately I haven't seen anything for the M56.

I lost my emblem as well and purchased a brand new cover from Infiniti parts online for $130. Less than you would expect! That was for an 09 with the HR engine. Infiniti calls it "engine appearance cover".
They have an M56 cover (new) for $200.

so sorry man, just mash on the go pedal and take a nice long drive - maybe that'll take your mind off the poor aftermarket support for the V8.
My guess is you'd have to find a carbon fiber fabricator to get a engine cover for the M56 - it doesn't have super complex angles/bends. if you had the right equipment you could probably fab one up yourself.

Don't be a hater! LOL the pedal power does make up for all of the neglect from the free market.

So much for making "America great again lol".
