OK, so I had a crazy idea, thought I feel out the datsun crowd, always kinda dug on the dimes but very rare here in the rustbelt, someday I;ll have one just not real soon, anyhow I was thinking, Q45 V8 into a Dime! I've seen domestic v8's shoehorned in and one even in the passanger footwell, mounted at an angel ( you really had to see this one it was pretty crazy) anyhow the 4.5 has about the most retarded intake I've even seen I was thinking something like a home made straumburg (sp?) set up with eight stack poking out of the hood with individual throttlebodies and of course a standalone to make it work, and of course it would have to be mated to a 5 speed, so what do ya ythink, hellasweet or just plain stupid I doubt I'd ever get the chance to do it but it makes my naughty parts tingle just thinking about it

i wouldnt do it.but thats me i like the old power plants.i would put a 240 or 280 motor in one i dont like the v8's because you loose all the handeling of the dime but it dos rip in a strait line.my dad had one and so did his friend.they said they whent like hell in the strait but couldnt handel at all.

so i wouldnt but it would be your car so do what you want hope it works.

Well a L28 with carbs and a 5 speed is 523lbs. A chevy small block with AL heads is about 500lbs, and slightly farther back in the wheelbase... A Small Block Ford (5.0 or 351) is 470lbs with AL heads...

Have no idea what a vh45 weighs though...
