Hey just thought some one would like to see some pictures of my v8 swap in progress. The truck now has a 350 police interceptor out of a '89 chevy, a old 3 speed transmission, and soon to get a early toyota rear end.

I lost intrest in the truck this summer and i have now started on the exaust system, i will be glad to drive it again.

H:shock:LY M:shock:LY!

That looks like it might be scary fun! How do you plan on stopping it?

Funny, I was just chatting with a small block Chevy 620 guy today down at the hardware store. We started taking weight, suspention, & brakes...He uses big old Lincoln drums but, mentioned something about bolting up these little beauties from So-Cal Speed Shop:

I don't think they would work with stock pins but, his is quite the backyard custom. I'd rather just do the disk thang without the big drum look but, to each his own. I think they would look better where they belong....on a Deuce.

Look forward to more on your build!

I'm looking for some pic's i took before i put the mtr in, i will post them as soon as i find them.

I also have some pic's of the coolent system, because i did not want to hack the cab up I bent up some 1.5" .195" wall tubing up and ran lines to the back into a VW rabbit alum radiator with a pair of fans. The motor mounts are solid type mounted to a racing type front motor plate. I'm think that because of the verey ridged boxed frame it will handle it.

As for stopping... well i talked to some mullet era V-8 chevy Luv builders and the said that the drum brakes on them where o.k. not great but o.k., but in the end i will be the judge of that.

More pictures soon, Thank you.

P.S. it all fits under a stock hood!

there's a cheap disc upgrade that can be done for the front for around 250 or so...another 200 or so for the rear...
I should find that info and post it up when I get a chance...
(Still waiting for a set to be made for me!)

disc brakes cheap? cool, I was wondering if 620 brakes would work but I have never looked into it. Let us know what the fix is, I'm a welder fabricator with lath and milling machine access so modifacation is my middle name.

go to nwde.org and read up in the truck section about disc brakes on a kingpin truck...
if you have that kind of experience, maybe you could do the brakets less expensively for us broke folks!
