Nice carbe setup there :)

FWIW, carbed 350's have been used in drag racing csince the early 90's in S13's with great success.

Let me know if you run into anything you need for your swap...I still have lots of goodies left from my project :)

Hey Aries, did you have serious traction problems with your V8? I was thinking a blown 400 SB would be a cool swap to do.

um, traction?what is that?28x10.5x15 Mickey Thompson ET Drags are about the only thing that gets traction to the ground. All the other tires I've tried have just spun ont the ground...And the Hoosiers I tried just rotated on the rim...

A blown 400 would be interresting... only problem is that it would never be possible to run a stock hood.

I enjoy the advantage of being a sleeper car. Unless you hear it, you never know what's under the hood :)

From the pictures, it looks like there is alot of room in the engine bay. Did you have any fitting problems around the steering linkage or the front cross member? These are the typical problem areas in a Zcar swap.

The steering linkage wasn't a problem at all,but the front cross member at first was a problem because the oil pan was laying right on top of the rack+pinion. So what I did was cut off part of the oil pan right were it starts to come down and then weld the same part off of a oil pan that was on a 4.3 v6 chevy engine that was on a 4x4 blazer, that way it cleared everything, but then the oil pan was about 2 inches lower than the cross member and I knew I would end up tearing it off.So I raised the engine up so that a factory chevy oil pan would work,by doing that the rear cross member fits perfect, like it came from the factory like that. But as you can see I lost all my clearance for my hood,so I have to get a scoop that looks pretty good or a aftermarket hood would be even better.

we did the same thing, though instead of raising it up, I simply built a steel plate to go under it :)

Now you guys got me thinking about ditching the KA all together and pulling the 350 chevy block that I have in the corner of my shop for a rainy day and dropping it in there.

But the question is will it still be allowed to race in the NASA racing with such a modified engine. That is what my goal is to get in those track races with the turns and the down shifting and the drifting oh YEAH! oopps Sorry got a little carried away :)

Has anyone swapped in the Ford 5.0 motor? Thats the one I prefer in the Zcar. It is lighter and smaller than the SBC, they are not very expensive, and have several different oil pan and oil pickup configurations.

Anybody? I've thought about that as well since I prefer the sound of a SBF to a SBC.

ok, well I have seen a Mustang with a Viper V10. If a V10 fits a car that had a V8 and that same V8 fits a 240, ehnyenye:thinker

Aries,

I've looked for the 302 swap kit that you mentioned, but I can't find it.

Can you point me to the manufacturer or a website? :help

Thanks!
