Ok we all know that the V6 has like another 100 horses on the V4..but i dont know if this has been in other posts but honestly having a V4 is good on gas AND it is still fast.. i mean..i wouldve got the V6 but the guy who got to the stealership b4 i did bought it...and i had to settle for the V4..but not dissappointed cause its fast...i mean..burning a charger at a red light c'mon...and a 5 Series....c'mon...but evryone talks about the V6 being so fast and stuff...give us V4 guys some lovin here!....and the forums seem dead...so i just decided to post a discussion...

when buying a car speed and power wasnt really a high priority for me. Styling and gas milege was. I have no regrets gettin my 2.5, it has all the power i want right now.

The four banger is quick. Go test drive the V6 though... you'll see why they love it so much. Just like nogears, when I bought this car, I was more interested in styling and gas mileage than just power. This car is exactly what I wanted, but of course, if I could have 270 hp with the same gas mileage... And btw, its not a V4, its an I4.

For sure man, I think a lot of people including myself would have loved to have the v6 but I'm more than happy with the four and it's power/acceleration. I agree, we could use some more love but you have to admit the v6 is an animal!

i have to agree that the (inline not V4) is nice with gas and stuff, but when i drove the V6 and then drove the 4 it was like hitting a wall. also it is nice to say that i have a V6 (or the VQ35de). and i think the fourm died when they split the fourm. i have to say that i dislike this alot, and i liked it as one fourm. (i would go on every 2 hours before but now 1 time a week)

I was set on buying the 4-cylinder manual transmission one, but none of the dealerships had one available. I test drove the CVT I4 and V6 and found the I4 gutless with the CVT transmission. I am sure it would have been better with a manual.

the day we got my 3.5se A/C was the same day my mom traded in her 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5s (5speed) for a maxima. i used to drive the 05 altima all the time and with stick shift it was hella fast or at least it felt hella fast. with CVT it doesn't feel fast with the I4. i've seen vids of the 2.5 CVT speedometer go up to 60 or 100 (forgot which one) and the 3.5se gets up soooo much faster. but it has 100 more horsepower so it should. gas is a pain in the *** for the V6 though, especially the way i drive. i just went to santa cruz from sacramento the other day (about 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive) and i averaged like 22 MPG on a 100% hwy trip lol i was doing 90 MPH the whole way and often hitting 100 though so maybe that contributed lol but ya, 2.5 6speed is nice but i'd pass on a 2.5 CVT (and i have CVT in my 3.5se so i'm not trying to dis CVT)

the 2.5s cvt coupe will compete with the honda's and scion tc's, but will mostly get beat. i don't know if someone has dyno'd one yet, but i'd imagine the 2.5L cvt is only throwing down 130 - 140 hp to the ground.

isnt the cvt undynoable (sp?) because you cant get close to a 1:1 ratio?

Lol. that is dumb. I smoke tC's with my 2.5s all day long. I pulled on an SS on Bell road 2 nights ago.. granted after 70 he caught up..

For sure man, not sure why people get so down on the 2.5l because it's pretty quick for it's competing class. Of course if you drive the i4 and then test drive the v6 it's going to feel "gutless", it has a 100 more hp. You're comparing apple's an oranges when driving an i4 and then a v6 and trying to compare. I've had no problem smoking other i4's and keeping up with some v6's.
