Just use the harness from the 96 q45. You can tune a 16 bit ecu, but finding someone to tune it for a vh45de is going to be very few people.
If you want to use an 8bit ecu, you need to find a 8 bit ecu, the connectors should be the same except a few sensors. Your best bet would to ask Elwesso on the Infiniti Q45 forum. He knows his sh*t on q45's.
My advise, run the stock ecu until you know the car has no issues with the swap. Find someone that will tune a ecu 8 or 16 bit, then install that in the car. It still should bolt/mount with the same pigtail at the ecu. You may have to switch out some connectors, maybe, but that info I do not know.
