Hey there! So, this is my first post on here. If I say something stupid or come off as a jacka** then I apologize :chuckle:
I just sold my e39 530i and I've been looking into getting into a G for some time now. I am curious to see what you all have to say about the two that I posted. Now, I have access to the G35s for about $15k-$16k with maybe 70k-85k miles. As for the G37, I found one online for $16k with 121k miles on it. I know that's a lot but I wouldn't say that I'm scared of mileage on a car. Oh, and both cars would be 6mt. My family has had Nissans for a while now so I know how reliable they are. And yes I know they are two fairly different cars. Just any help deciding between the two would help A LOT!!!!! :bigthumb:

Sedan if you regularly haul people, coupe if you don't.

Funny because I have both cars....

Coupe would be faster but the V36 sedan is pretty darn close. The sedans VQ35HR has 306hp v the VQ37VHR's 330hp. The sedan is a tad lighter than the coupe. I always thought the sedan was more a$$-happy than the coupe but it's been so long since my coupe was stock it's hard to tell anymore. While the V36 sedan sport model does come with slightly larger brakes they are nowhere near as good as the Akebono's on the G37's. Obviously you could do a brake swap too. V36 probably gets 1-2mpg more at 80 than the G37 (maybe).

What else would you like to really know?

I know the specs on both. I want good gas mileage and as youre saying the sedan does a little better so it seems a little better to me. i like sedans too but as far as space goes the coupe has fold down seats and the sedan doesnt. ive driven the sedan too but not a coupe yet...hard to come by around here. how much of a real world performance difference is there? handling, speed, efficiency, etc.

Initial impression is the G37 coupe handles a bit better and has better performance than the '07-08 G35s sedans. Hard for me to compare today because I have most bolt-on's with the coupe now.

Yes, the coupe back seats fold down and you have a larger pass-through area than the sedan.

From an aftermarket perspective you can get about anything. All bolt-on's through turbo or SC. There are not hundreds of companies making parts like for American cars but there are options for everything.

If you was talking auto transmission I was going to say g37 is the way to go... but with 6speed its going to come down to how much HP you want and any features the g37 has that you might want.

I personally picked a sedan just based on it having more utility than the coupe... but my next car will probably be a coupe since I already have a sedan.
