i know lol but u forgot i'm lazy. i was also curious to see what he paid for it as opposed to what they're going for. imo i woudl have gone with teh b&m its more but worth it. i dont like these style short shifters so maybe i'm biased.mrgreeneyes wrote:haha, the ebay addict asks for ebay prices? lol...
up until recently i wasnt even aware these things were making noise for some people. i might have gotten the revised version but my b&m doesnt make a soundderrick113 wrote:yeah i wasnt bashing on ya man, i went through that same process and trying to tighten the nuts up on the plates was def no fun. Then i got the B&M and was very pleased with the shifting throws but d*mn that thing was noisey. I'm a little skeptical about getting the revised version now but who knows. Good luck with the rest of the build.

Put in the spacer.
Like so. Insert wave washer.
Insert the plastic piece with the rods
Insert the lower half of the shifter, make sure you lube the white nipple.
Now the plastic retainer. If you have a gasket to cover the plastic parts insert now. I don't have it for some reason, but I'm doing without it :-/
Put on the bracket with the C on the bottom with with the nut facing down. Screw the top piece on and then put on the plastic cover. (Sorry forgot to take a pic in between the two steps.
Screw on the second half of the shifter.
Put on the dust boot and the metal bracket.
Then put the consul assembly back on fallowed by the knob.
Good point, I don't know how BTown got it off the stock shifter either, but when I did this on my old hatch I just installed the short shifter without it, this is what what I didYellowStarS2000 wrote:I just bought a similar one but I can't seem to get the stock plastic retainer off the stock shifter. Did your kit come with one? The OEM shifter is too big on both sides to get the plastic retainer off
