Just treated myself with a valentine one radar detector n A blend mount. I want to power it directly to the rear view mirror wire, with what the v1 comes with. I don't want to wire it to the fuse box.

Btw have a 2006 m35x

What I need help with is how to remove the over head console to get to the mirror wire.

I have searched the forums n checked the service manual. I would like to avoid breaking anything so a step by step would be ideal.

Hello lurker!

While I'm not a fan of the BlendMount (I think it draws too much attention to the V1) I am a huge fan of direct wiring.

Here's my a V1 mounted in my Z that's been direct wired to the mirror using a StealthCord.

Using the StealthCord should save you from having to tear into the console since it just plugs into the back of the mirror. I needed a 12" cord because I had to go up and then down the wiring channel, since you're using a BlendMount you should be able to get by with an 8" cable.

I wanna use the wires it came with bc it has a built in fuse. I orders a similar wire from the makes of blend mount but that's just backup incase I need it. I prefer to use the v1 wires
