-- Yes, all years have it. Not like today's where some of the cylinders shut off for fuel economy, tho. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what's commonly called V.V.T. nowadays?

vvt is in all ranges, vtec was for high range on hondas. but now pretty much all companies have it for all range...and it does not refer to the selective cylinder cut off system.

God it's scarey.VVT variable valve timing in that the intake cam is retard [20 degrees] at idle and above 4400 rpm and advances above idle [1500 rpm] until cut back above.
IVO is either 20 or 0 BTDC, 248 duration stays the same just positionally moves.
Purpose to create a smooth idle and increase WOT TORQUE from 1500-4500 rpm by 4-11%.
