I bought from them a few weeks ago. Just got the bulbs and had a chance to put them in last night. They were 2 license plate bulbs. Unfortunately the 2 bulbs were different in color and very noticeable on the license plate. I called them and talked to Jake and he apologized and said they should've been tested for color match before sending out. Said he'd mail out another pair today. They were somewhat slow to ship initially but overall good customer svc so far.

Anyone know what bulbs are needed for the Y34 license plate?

Goodthing,

It might be a type "194" or "wedge" socket. I've tried two different V-LED's for the license plate and these work best at this link...

There is also a FITMENT guide on the V-LEDS site. Type in your car info(Sylvania site) and it will provide a complete list.

striz,

I missed out on my first order too. I since placed a second order and asked about getting a NICO CLUB discount. Jake at V-LEDS was most willing to oblige and is great at customer service.

Is it possible to replace the brake light bulbs and the side markers and such with LED's?

I don't particularly care about the other lights but the brake lights I am definitely interested in :D

sunlitsand...send Jake an email. He may give it to you. Its worth a try.

BTW - I just installed for BOTH my parking and backup lights, the 14-light high-power, 5watt. They are MUCH brighter than the 19-LED set I already tried.

anyway you could put together a full kit for all the interior lights, reverse lights and driving lights??? This would be for a 2007 M35

so can you actually see with the new backup lights?? the ones I got were "pretty" but couldn't see worth a darn.

ditto. mine back-up led's look nice but are worthless in terms of providing light. I've asked v-led's to put up comparisons of the oem filament vs the led vs the high-power smt ones (I think they are $50), but haven't seen anything yet. I even suggested I could do the comparison for them if they'd provide the product.

my advice? don't change out the back-up lights.

For those of you who have done the swap in the lic plate on an 03 M45. What is the process to get to the bulbs? Do you have to go through the inside of the trunk and take of the fabric lining?

Oh...I see. So it's not worth trying. Greg Childs gives a pretty convincing story as to why they should.

I won't suggest it next time.
